Column Revamps

Distillation and absorption columns sometimes need to be revamped to achieve capacity increases, separation improvements or energy consumption reductions.  Trays or packings can be used to replace trays or packings.  New generations of such devices have facilitated the attainment of the revamp targets, but, the revamping of the columns includes practical, mechanical and safety considerations that are too often forgotten.  Many photographs will be employed to illustrate several aspects of real work on real columns.
