Integration of Planning and Control

Interoperability refers to the methods by which software applications and systems access data among themselves as required in order to function without external intervention.  Real and practical interoperability can be achieved when that access is designed and implemented on a pragmatic and collaborative set of open standards.  Pedersen will explain how owner-operators are driving the standards and supplier organizations in the development and implementation of standards based interoperability for key classes of systems used to support Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for operating plants, production platforms, and other capital facilities by incorporating a 'digital handover' of the information that is generated during the capital project phase of 'green field' activities.  This more inclusive Owner/Operator vision has culminated in the development of the Oil and Gas Interoperability (OGI) Pilot and an associated ISO Working Group which has demonstrated successful progress in achieving true standards based interoperability.  The resulting Industrial Interoperability Ecosystem will be presented.
