Offshore topside facilities are typically designed for minimum processing of the well fluids to minimize the topside facilities weight and footprint. A typical oil and gas processing facility includes separation, treating, gas compression, dehydration, treating facilities for produced water and water injection units. This presentation will cover a broad overview of typical offshore processing facilities including utilities and safety system. This presentation will provide types of offshore installations and factors used in determining facilities type. It will conclude with current challenges and future developments of offshore facility design.
