Friday, October 10, 2014 - 8:30am to 9:00am
Cyber Security is a major current topic of discussion for many process facilities. Somewhere between the doomsday scenarios and keeping the plant running, Management wants to know just how cyber security is going to affect them. This presentation will focus on key topics and look at methods of discussing the issue with management. Starting with dispelling some of the hype and addressing the real threats, it will look at the need for cyber security, control system sabotage and intellectual property protection issues, compliance and regulatory issues, and getting IT and control system engineering on the same page. We cover the key jargon and what it means, why saying “no” is not an option, and will conclude with a plan on how to get started and not be overwhelmed.
