SimulFlow™ Devices Maximize Ethylene Fractionator Production

The UOP SimulFlow™ device is a co-current flow distillation internal with an extremely high capacity.  Tested at F.R.I. and verified in a commercial C2 Splitter application, the SimulFlow device is a proven and cost-effective option for debottlenecking distillation towers for increased capacities and/or recoveries.  This presentation will highlight the technical features of the technology and its successful implementation to produce a high purity ethylene product during an initial revamp, only limited by the auxiliary equipment.  Four and a half years later, a second revamp was implemented to take advantage of the full potential of originally installed SimulFlow devices, finally establishing its true capability in a commercial column.
