Energy Management & Efficiency/TIEEP Energy Forum | AIChE

Session Description:

Cogeneration (or combined heat and power, CHP) is a well-known technique for enhancing the efficiency of energy delivery, and it is firmly established in the oil refining and chemicals sectors. However, new dynamics are entering the energy market, with increasing focus on renewables, energy resilience, and grid reliability, as well as process electrification within oil refineries and chemical plants. This session explores the topic of cogeneration and optimization from multiple perspectives, including the operating company and engineering provider, as well as the common benefit of the grid. Industry examples are included.

Session Chairs:

  • Alan Rossiter, UH Energy, University of Houston
  • Allison Wheeler, IAG
