More and more, petrochemical producers are faced with the challenges, and repercussions, of high CS2 content in the naphtha feedstock for steam crackers. In general, CS2 has a strong impact on the selective hydrogenation catalyst activity, but this impact is especially true for Pygas hydrogenation units. This contamination yields the poisoning of Pygas catalyst, potentially resulting in off spec products, increased opex, early catalyst change outs, and unexpected outages/down time. As this issue presents itself to producers worldwide, Axens has dedicated itself to providing solutions today for the challenges of the future.
Axens newest, ultra-high activity, palladium based catalyst has been fully developed and tested with a singular goal; to tackle the challenge of CS2 contamination. When comparing the performance of Axens Next-Gen LD 585 to industry leading referenced catalyst, Axens has found improved catalytic performance under high sulfur-containing feedstockâs.
The development of this next generation catalyst is thanks to Axens dedication to improving catalyst production and preparation.
