Most companies, including olefins producers, have announced ambitious goals towards carbon neutrality. Nearly all new olefins projects include requirements to reduce or eliminate carbon emissions, even though the production of olefins is a highly energy intensive process.
Accordingly, all technology licensors are working on carbon reduction technologies and strategies. In this talk various features, both commercialized and in development, will be discussed which can be applied to new crackers or as modifications to existing crackers to reduce or eliminate carbon emissions.
Additionally, carbon reduction strategies for other olefins-production technologies outside of steam cracking will also be discussed.
Finally, the potential to integrate blue / green hydrogen or blue / green ammonia facilities with olefins plants will be covered.
