Facility siting studies require periodic review at specified intervals during the life of a facility. As stated in 29 CFR Part 1910.119 (e) (6), revalidation is required every five years based on the previous full study completion date. While revalidation is a regulatory requirement, little is often known about the process of undertaking the initial study or review and, in some cases, this process can become challenging.
A new and simple revalidation tool is available that helps operators determine if their facility siting study needs a complete redo, a retrofit, an update, or a simple revalidation. This paper introduces and explores this simple revalidation tool, providing examples of how it can be used in a plant environment.
