On September 13, 2008 Hurricane Ike struck the Texas-Louisiana Coast causing severe damage to local chemical plant facilities and communities. This article addresses the process and critical decisions involved in planning and executing repairs for restoring a major chemical facility to full and reliable operation. In addition, this article highlights steps to be taken for hurricane planning and preparation which will minimize the potential impact of hurricane damage.
