Hydrogen can play a key role as an energy vector for difficult-to-decarbonize industries and sectors including heavy duty trucking and transport, marine shipping, aviation, and industry heat and power. Integrating usage in these sectors is key to obtaining economies of scale needed for commercial roll out, via sharing of infrastructure. Process safety with global consistency in codes and standards for infrastructure and use will be critical. This presentation will address the role hydrogen will play in synergy with electrification as a vector for end-user delivery of clean energy options in the future economy, and the importance of process safety in gaining broad stakeholder acceptance needed for adoption.
