Without understanding of process hazards, risk cannot be controlled and risk assessment is compulsory for incident prevention. Managers want their workers to be able to recognize not only apparent but evolving threats effectively. Risk assessment needs various strategies, skilled and testing teams to identify risks and create obstacles to mitigation in their operating environment. Different approaches can enhance the detection of hazards to the risk assessment process.
This paper explains the approach used in the implementation of combined traditional and non-conventional, qualitative and quantitative approaches, to identify process hazards, risk assessment and risk management. An insight on the non-conventional techniques (Temporary repairs reduction & effective permit to work system) will enable conference audience from all sectors of process industry, in developing integrated process hazard identification and evaluation
