What gets measured gets done.  Whether it's for process safety management risk management ISO, OHSAS or equivalent, the audit element is essential to make sure we are keeping our eye on the ball. Many times the audit group is small and uses archaic methods to record and measure performance.  Taking the time to build best practice process is wasted unless we ensure that users are well-trained on its use and that we are measuring against that good process.  Failure to measure, and leverage the results, will ensure that findings of bad practice and also good practice will not be useful.  The audit management element is meant to compare what should be with what is.  The results of that analysis come in the form of findings major and minor as well as opportunities for improvement and best practice.  In order to make full use of these results a best practice audit management system is required that is the subject of this presentation.  This paper explores how some of the most famous companies in the world leverage the audit element to ensure continuous improvement.
