PID controllers are the mainstay in controlling many industrial processes. While the PID controller can provide great performance in most cases, the addition of feed forward control for large measured disturbance can greatly improve the response to the disturbance. This workshop will explain the limitation of PID controller performance, the benefit of feed forward and how to implement feed forward with a PID control scheme. Actual plant examples will be used to illustrate the concepts and results.
