Jetty Bog Recovery for Rich LNG

A considerable amount of BOG is generated during the LNG tanker loading for the base load LNG plant. Jetty BOG from older generation baseload LNG plants has not been recovered, since the jetty BOG generation is intermittent and to recover the jetty BOG is costly. However, due to recent concern about the global warming by CO2 emission from the flare stack, the jetty BOG recovery has become significant issue nowadays. Generally speaking, the BOG is leaner compared with the baseload feed gas, therefore to recovery the BOG as feed gas, there will be some effect to the liquefaction performance.

A previous presentation of recycling the Jetty BOG back to the liquefaction train showed minor improvements, mostly due to the lean nature of the overall feed gas. These results were performed by using CHEMCAD by Chemstation to simulate the overall process. This presentation will build off of previous work to look at using rich LNG BOG and recycling back to the front of the LNG train.
