(137c) Efficiency of Different  Flame Arresters Designs for Dust Explosions

Authors

The presentation will show different designs of flame arresters used in dust explosive atmospheres as well as It will review venting efficiency data's taken from real explosions test and simulations carried out with different quench materials and designs, under different vessel volumes and fuel explosivity features which are known to have an influence in such venting efficiency.

The Author will also show the state of the art for flameless explosion venting for dust explosions applications.

Within the presentation will be also mentioned the current and new investigations which needs to be done for a better understanding and application of this technique.

Finally, It will be shown some conclusions and recommendations about the correct use of these devices in different bulk handling equipment to be protected against dust explosions.
