(54bj) Bulk Solids Handling Education at the KSU Bulk Solids Innovation Center

Kansas State University Bulk Solids Innovation Center (BSIC) was started in 2015 with university and industry partnership and is located in Salina, Kansas. This center is dedicated to bulk solids handling research, education and outreach and equipped with world class pneumatic conveying system (both dense and dilute) full scale test lab and other material testing equipment. The vision of this center is to become valued resources for companies who produce or handle bulk solids during their operations. Currently, this center offers short courses in various subject lines related to bulk solids handling such as storage and flow, pneumatic conveying systems, discrete element method, dust explosion and control and mixing and segregation. Duration for these short courses varies from two to three and half days and offered as live course with class room teaching and practical training. The fundamental course on bulk solids handling is offered as distance education online format. This center is also in the process of starting two year online (distance education) master degree program named professional master of technology specialized in bulk solids handling and one year graduate certificate program (online) in bulk solids handling.
