Particle mixtures occur often in combustion technologies, refining processes, polymerization processes, and other process. These particle mixtures result in a complex mixtures of varying particle densities, sizes, and shapes. In this paper, a mixture of 550 micron coal char and 183 micron sand were simulated in a 385 x 5 x 400 mm bed. Simulations were performed with Barracuda Virtual Reactor varying drag models and collisional models to match experimental data. Two velocities were looked at 5x and 8x the minimum fluidization. Barracuda Virtual Reactor was able to match experimental data.
