“Seeing is believing” is generally the case for all fields. However, in the case of particle technology it is especially true. Many phenomena unique to particulate systems are very counter intuitive. Flow from a 10 m tall silo filled with a bulk solid can easily be stopped with a single hand – the same cannot be said for a fluid. If you pick up a box of bran flakes with raisins and shake it, you’ll separate the bran from the raisins. Visual demonstrations and classroom experiments can validate these counterintuitive facts much more readily than other means. In this session we welcome papers presenting novel demonstrations of particle technology.
