Carbon Capture and Storage in Australia

CCS Research and Development activities in Australia commenced in the late 1990’s and over the last 15 years has contributed significantly to our understanding of the issues surrounding development and implementation of large scale capture, transportation, and storage projects.  The Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies (CO2CRC) has been front and centre of this effort.  In this presentation we will discuss the history, policy support, regulatory activity, projects, and research undertaken by the CO2CRC and others and discuss the plans for the future of CCS in Australia.
