The Complexity of Assessing Process Sustainability for International Development Programs

This paper will discuss the critical issues and complexity in assessing sustainability of processes for international development programs. Programs from Asia, Latin America, and North America will be discussed and an assessment methodology will be presented. These programs, funded by international financing and development agencies, include processes for manufacturng pulp & paper, chemicals & ferlizer, and petrochemicals. Some of these programs were successfully implemented.
