While no single technology is the complete solution to resource shortages, an integrated system of technologies can significantly contribute to shifting the resource balance towards sustainability. Proposed is a ?resource oasis? capable of producing electricity, biofuels, potable water and other commercially attractive products from renewable resources. The ?oasis? uses multiple energy inputs such as wind, solar and tidal energies to produce electricity, fuels, potable water and other useful products with minimal environmental impacts. The ?oasis? is a modular floating platform allowing the efficient capture of solar energy through photovoltaic and biological systems. Omni-directional wind turbines and open-water current turbines supplement the energy inputs. Taking in seawater, the ?oasis? produces ethanol, biodiesel, high-protein feed, hydrogen, and potable water. The modules can be readily linked together to increase outputs. The modules can be anchored offshore transferring products onshore through pipelines, or anchored in deep water transferring products via ship.
