Modelling--Designing for Sustainability and Decision Making

This session deals with modeling for sustainability of complex systems. Of essence is how decision can be made regarding systems that have multiple sustainability objectives for optimization or improvement when the objectives may not always be complementary. Of particular interest are novel design methodologies, particularly for integrating economic, environmental, and social concerns and conducting effective mass and energy integration, and that present decision-making methodologies for solving multiscale industrial sustainability problems where the data, information, and knowledge are not sufficiently available.
