AIChE and IfS Efforts in Sustainability

The Institute for Sustainability (IfS) is a Technological Entity of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. IfS’s mission is to serve the needs of and influence the efforts of professionals, academes, industries, and governmental bodies that contribute to the advancement of sustainability and sustainable development with the objective of promoting the societal, economic, and environmental benefits of sustainable and green engineering. IfS provides multidisciplinary scientific and technical rigor to sustainability discussions, encourages the incorporation of sustainability concepts in engineering education, advances sustainability research and development, and facilitates the development of measurement tools and frameworks to guide the design of more sustainable products and processes.
