
Sources: Refinery unlikely to begin output before Oct.

Pemex's new Olmeca oil refinery in Mexico's port of Dos Bocas likely won't start production before October, say sources, who add engineers are still working on parts of the $16.8 billion refinery. Outgoing President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador ceremoniously opened the refinery in 2022, but his successor, Claudia Sheinbaum, who takes office Oct. 1, likely will see the major project through to its completion.
