Andrew W. Sloley is currently a Principal Process Engineer at CH2M Hill. Mr. Sloley has worked in process technology development and unit revamps at Exxon, Glitsch, and consulting firms. His background includes major work on refinery black oil units including crude, vacuum, FCC, hydrocracking, delayed coking, and visbreaking as well as light ends units. His specialty is the area of distillation, product recovery, and heat-integration. He has authored over 200 papers and technical presentations in these areas. Audiences have included the National Petrochemical and Refiner’s Association, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. Publications have appeared in Hydrocarbon Processing, Oil and Gas Journal, Petroleum Technology Quarterly and others. He currently writes a monthly column on plant and process design and troubleshooting for Chemical Processing magazine. He is a graduate of the University of Tulsa and a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas.
