Currently a research engineer in the Center for Membranes and Advanced Water Technology (CMAT), and jointly working with the Research and Innovation Center on CO2 and Hydrogen (RICH), at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi. My research interests are in advanced water/wastewater treatment and desalination via the development of green and sustainable solvents, with extensive experience in selective extraction of value-added compounds from different aqueous streams and applications (e.g. nuclear wastewater, desalination pretreatment, brine management and lithium recovery). I'm also working on integration of green solvents with membrane technologies and processes. Received my MSc in Water & Environmental engineering at Masdar Institute, with Prof. Inas Alnashef and Prof. Hassan A. Arafat, on the topic of designing novel deep eutectic solvents for water treatment applications – specifically, Boron extraction.
