SSC-6MO (UNS N08367) is a superaustenitic stainless steel containing in excess of 6% molybdenum. This alloy was developed for corrosion-resistant applications where conventional stainless steels fail because of chloride pitting and crevice and stress-corrosion cracking. It can be used as a cost-effective substitute for nickel alloys, including Alloys G, 20, 825, 625 and C276. SSC-6MO is suitable for use in air pollution control, chemical and petrochemical, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, offshore oil and gas, power generation, pulp and paper and seawater desalination applications. This alloy is available in a range of sizes, from 3/16-in. to 2-in.
