This company has added xenon difluoride (XeF2) to its portfolio of electronic materials. When used as an etching gas, primarily in the micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) market, XeF2 provides manufacturers with a high selectivity to silicon compared with SiO2 and other materials. The company says it is uniquely positioned to serve the burgeoning XeF2 market due, in part, to its access to a stable, low-cost supply of xenon, resulting from its many large-scale air-separation units and XeCovery xenon-recovery system.
