This study demonstrates the effectiveness of Tornado’s Raman spectrometers for monitoring chemical reactions and processes in real-time. The conversion of benzoic anhydride to the corresponding ester was monitored in-situ with a Tornado Raman spectrometer, without the need for extracting samples from the reactor. Through data collection and trend analysis, it was possible to track the progress of the reaction, calculate the rates of starting material consumption and end product formation, and optimize the reaction end time. The results highlight the speed and accuracy of Tornado's Raman spectrometers, proving them to be effective tools for enhancing process efficiency.
