Dr. John H. Evans serves as Vice President, Yeast Innovation, at AB Biotek, a division of the global yeast manufacturer AB Mauri. Previous to his role at AB Biotek, Dr. Evans was Vice President, Science & Technology, at the ethanol producer POET, where he also was Director, Cellulosic Ethanol and lead the POET-DSM Steering Committee for Project LIBERTY, the POET-DSM Advanced Biofuels joint venture in cellulosic ethanol. Previous to joining POET, Dr. Evans was Research Director at GeoSynFuels, a cellulosic ethanol start-up company in Golden, Colorado. Dr. Evans also consults in renewable fuels and chemicals through FlatIrons Cellulosic LLC, a consulting firm. Previous to joining industry, Dr. Evans was on the Chemistry & Biochemistry faculty at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Dr. Evans received his doctorate in cellular and molecular biology from the Florida State University and held post-doctoral appointments at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester and National Jewish Health in Denver.
