Pablo Rabinowicz

Pablo Rabinowicz received his BS/MS in Biology and his Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1996 he moved to Cold Spring Harbor Lab in NY as a postdoctoral fellow to work in plant genomics. In 2004 he took a Plant Genomics faculty position at The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR, now the JC Venter Institute), working on maize, castor bean, cassava, and other plant genomes. In 2007 he moved to the University of Maryland School of Medicine at Baltimore, where he held a faculty position at the Institute for Genome Sciences (IGS), continuing his work on plant genomics and also diatom epigenomics.

Since 2011, Dr. Rabinowicz has been Program Manager in the Biological and Environmental Research Program in the Department of Energy, where he manages the Biosystems Design element within the Genomic Science program and is a member of the DOE Joint Genome Institute (DOE-JGI) management team.
