Tongtong joined Genentech in 2018 and leads the Pharmaceutical Technical Development organization for US Biologics. The organization collaborates with Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED), Global Product Development and Strategy teams, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Quality to deliver a portfolio of 45+ biologics spanning preclinical, clinical, licensure, and commercial products with increasing complexity. Prior to her role at Genentech, Tongtong held several technical and leadership positions with increasing responsibilities in a small biotech (Corixa Corp, 1997 - 2005) and a large pharmaceutical company (Eli Lilly, 2005 - 2018).
Tongtong received her B.Sc. in Molecular Biology from University of Science and Technology of China, a doctorate in Biology from Syracuse University, and completed her postdoctoral training in cell biology and yeast genetics at Cornell University.
