Landscape of Governance for Gene Editing

Gene editing is challenging existing regulatory systems and posing broader governance issues such as control of and access to the technology, public understanding and communication, and potential ease of use or misuse. In this presentation, I will review the current landscape of oversight for gene-edited products and recent policy proposals, as well as discuss emerging applications for CRISPR, such as in gene drives, and the special considerations they pose for governance.
