Synthetic Biology has opened the doors to vast possibilities to design, create, control and program cellular structures and functions. By its very nature, the field is adept of cultivation and building a new kind of interdisciplinary intellectuals who can vision and design synthetic systems by using integrative science and engineering training. The BioMolecular Engineering (BioE) program at MSOE has started a âBuild to Prove Understandingâ initiative to produce âSCINGINEERSâ who are visioning, building and authoring brand new undergraduate synthetic biology laboratory activities to reinforce concepts like Hin/Hix DNA Recombination, Mechanics of Repressilator System, Burnt Pancake Problem and its Application to Genetic Elements, Electric Logic Gates to Molecular Gates and Connecting Basic SBOL with available software like Tinkercell.
