Rewriting the Genome Novel Tools in Synthetic Biology

The Synthetic Biology revolution has allowed unprecedented advances in the areas of disease treatment, vaccine development, and small molecule discovery. Two advances have facilitated this growth. The inexpensive, fast and reliable synthesis of large, accurate fragments of DNA, and the ability to rapidly and accurately modify genomes using CRISPR technology. This presentation will discuss the development, methodology, and implementation of these technologies drawing from IDTs in house research and recent publications.
