(612a) Keynote: Solar Chemistry in Mexico and the National Laboratory of Solar Concentration and Solar Chemistry

Authors

Estrada, C. - Presenter, National University of Mexico
Mexico is a country that has abundant solar energy resources, in particular, in the northwestern region of the country, it has an average annual DNI values of over 7.5 kWh/m2/day, which are among the best on the planet. Therefore, it is expected that solar concentration technologies will be deployed in the country that take advantage of this energy resource; in addition to CSP, those related to thermochemical processes such as the production of solar fuels or the development of new materials will be expected.

The article presents the most important investigations that have been carried out in Mexico in the last decade, particularly due to the impulse generated by the establishment of the National Laboratory of Solar Concentration Systems and Solar Chemistry in the country.
