As the chemical industry transitions towards sustainable manufacturing, the need for robust tools to evaluate and communicate the sustainability impact of products and processes has become critical. This presentation will introduce the Lubrizol Sustainability Scorecard, an innovative tool designed to address this need by providing a comprehensive framework for assessing project sustainability metrics.

The Lubrizol Sustainability Scorecard enables the qualitative analysis and quantitative measure of the environmental, economic, and social dimensions of our products and processes. By integrating key performance indicators (KPIs) and utilizing a multi-criteria analysis approach, the tool offers a holistic view of sustainability performance. It can therefore be used to facilitate internal decision-making, strategy development, and project prioritization by providing clear, quantifiable data that can be easily understood and acted upon.

Externally, the Sustainability Scorecard could be leveraged as a powerful communication instrument. It could allow Lubrizol to transparently share sustainability data with customers, partners, and stakeholders, thereby demonstrating our commitment to decarbonization and sustainable practices. Such transparency could not only build trust across the company’s network, but also help articulate the added value of sustainable products, potentially unlocking new market opportunities and driving competitive advantage.

This presentation will detail the development process of the Sustainability Scorecard, including the selection of relevant KPIs, the methodological framework, and selected case studies showcasing its application. Attendees will gain insights into how such a tool could be integrated into their organizations to foster their culture of sustainability and achieve their strategic sustainability goals.
