Karre, A. - Presenter, Worley Group
NOx reduction, or the minimization of NOx generation, is critical in number of operating plants. This paper provides information on how NOx can be controlled in fuel firing and process applications. Both technical and economic information are provided. The paper provides design critical information on six different NOx control technologies i.e., Standard, Low NOx Burners (LNB), and ultra-low NOx burners (ULNB), Flue gas recirculation (FGR), Selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR), Selective catalytic reduction (SCR), Catalytic scrubbing, Miscellaneous NOx control systems. Also, it provides additional information on NOx control for three specific process applications which include FCCU, Gas turbine, and Thermal oxidizer. Cost associated with each of the NOx control technologies is discussed with some generic guidelines.
