Advances in Ammonia as a Fuel/Hydrogen Carrier

Chair(s)

Buehler, C., Exponent Inc

Co-chair(s)

Ammonia has the potential to function both as a carbon-free fuel, replacing gasoline, diesel and fuel oil, and a solution for storing hydrogen, both of which can formed from excess power generated by wind turbines and solar cells. This session focuses on the issues, challenges, and solutions of using ammonia as either a fuel or hydrogen carrier. Potential topics include analyses of the risks associated with using ammonia in these roles, comparisons of ammonia to other fuels, and comparisons of various means of transporting hydrogen.
