Paul Jensen

Paul Jensen trained as an engineer and microbiologist at the University of Minnesota, the University of Virginia, and Boston College. In 2016, he joined the bioengineering faculty at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and mentors students in systems microbiology, artificial intelligence, and automated science. The Jensen lab solves biological problems that are too large for either experiments or computation alone, combining synthetic biology, genomics, and laboratory automation to study bacteria in the oral microbiome.
