Tomo Matsuura is a Professor at Earth-Life Science Institute (ELSI), Tokyo Institute of Technology (Japan). He obtained his Ph.D. at Osaka University (Supervisors Prof. Urabe and Prof Yomo) and did a postdoc at the University of Zurich (Prof Plueckthun). He has been using a cell-free protein synthesis system for the directed evolution of proteins and artificial cell synthesis.
