Christian Brothers University, Senior

Do you hold any positions in your AIChE chapter or with AIChE nationally?

May 2014-April 15: Vice President; May 2015-Current: President

Describe an event in your chapter that you are most proud to have been involved with.

3v3 basketball tournament in January. Goals met were to increase campus knowledge of AIChE, have a good time, and add value to campus life.

What are your plans after graduation? In what field are you most interested in having an impact?

Considering a few options currently: Get MBA then PhD in Nuclear Engineering or go to law school for Patent Law. If I'm feeling foolish, maybe both.

How do you blow off steam and keep your sanity between classes, homework and projects?

-Hang out with friends

-Copious caffeine consumption

-Planned procrastination

Which of your undergraduate classes have you most enjoyed?

Am I allowed to say the easy philosophy classes that nurtured my GPA?


How did you decide to pursue a degree in ChE?

-Started as a chemistry major

-Transferred, switching to ChE, as it provides more options career-wise

-Added a second major in Physics in 2013

What is the best kept secret on your campus?

Before Kenrick Hall was demolished, there were some tunnels you could access from the basement. The piping was pretty interesting, according to my forehead.

I doubt this is the best kept secret, because no one would know what it is if it were the best kept.

What are you most looking forward to after graduation?

Sleeping, more free time, and being more useful to others

What will you be most saddened to leave behind at school when you move on?

The people. And the annual Humans vs. Zombies competition

What is the most unexpected thing you have been asked in an interview?

"What do you do for fun?"

Do you have any advice to incoming students and underclassmen ChEs around the world?

Discretion is a friend of all people.

What's your first thought when you wake up in the morning?

Breakfast

Networking, help chapters where I am, and do my best to be useful.
