Get to Know the AIChE's Women's Initiatives Committee

The Women’s Initiatives Committee (WIC) is an AIChE organization that leads in promoting the entry, development, and full participation of women in the Institute and the profession by:

  • Developing and/or distributing resources on subjects pertaining to women in the profession.
  • Mobilizing AIChE to meet the needs of existing and potential female members of AIChE and the profession.
  • Providing networking means for women in AIChE to use each other as resources.
  • Increasing the visibility of women within AIChE and the profession.

We have programming at both the Spring Meeting and the Annual Meeting, including networking luncheons featuring a prominent female ChE, as well as professional development workshops for all career levels. 

Travel Grants for Annual Meeting

We also provide travel and mentorship awards at the Annual Meeting. The award applications for this year’s Annual Meeting are now open! If you are a female grad student or postdoc and want funds to attend the conference, apply for a travel award by 9/12

Mentorship Award Applications Being Accepted

If you are, or know of, a female faculty member who has contributed to the development of the next generation of ChE’s through outstanding mentoring,apply for the mentorship award by 9/19.
