The University of California, San Diego Student Chapter tells us who they are and what they do in the latest entry in the “Show-and-Tell” Video Challenge. In their video the chapter, which was established in 1982, talks about its vision and mission to encourage the professional development of chemical engineers and foster community among their members mainly through social activities, career building events, and service opportunities.
One unique feature of the chapter is an activity they call Project Programs, in which six different project teams focus on topics such as fuel cells, ethanol production and optimization, and portable wind power, and apply their skills and chemical engineering knowledge to solve real-world problems.
The chapter also holds a career fair called the Nano and Chemical Engineering Exhibition (NCHE); this year it had around 20 companies representing many industrial types.
The Executive Student Committee (ESC) wishes to thank the University of California, San Diego Student Chapter for its participation in this year’s video challenge. Subscribe to the ESC’s mailing list to follow the video challenge and find out which Student Chapter has been challenged to participate next.
