The student team from University of Toledo (shown above) clinched the top trophy for the second year in a row in the 2022 Annual Student Conference Chem-E-Car Competition® finals, winning with a distance of 30.4 cm. The target distance was 22m and no load was required this year.
The second place winner was Missouri University of Science and Technology (35 cm), followed by the University of Patras (Greece) (36 cm), Trine University (36.8 cm), and University of Kentucky (46 cm). See the final run results.
Awards
The winners of the poster competition were, in descending order, University of Toledo (1st), New Jersey Institute of Technology, Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, University of Florida, and University of Toronto.
The award for the best car name went to the University of Patras. Their team name was Lamborgenius.
The Golden Tire Award went to Centro Universitario of FEI (Brazil). The most innovative car design was awarded to Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (Mexico), and the SAChE Safety Award to Centro Universitario of FEI.
Universidad Nacional de Colombia Sede Bogotá won the Spirit of Competition Award. The University of Michigan received the award for outstanding sportsmanship.
