AIChE will host its second 3MT® competition at the 2023 AIChE Annual Meeting, giving graduate students an opportunity to present their theses in just three minutes. There’s still time to sign up - AIChE and the YPC have extended the submission deadline to July 1st!
The 3MT® competition will allow for the exchange of relevant knowledge between competitors and the audience, and will also serve to help graduate-level chemical engineers develop their communication and leadership skills.
Our hope is that the 3MT® will spark new innovations and collaborations among AIChE groups as well as with researchers both in academia and industry.
— Dr. Shelby Mills, YPC chair
Competitors will submit an entry form along with a video recording of their 3MT® presentation for preliminary review. Volunteer judges will review and select the top submissions to advance to the final round of competition, to take place in person at the AIChE Annual Meeting.
Last year’s 3MT® Competition
Eleven competitors were invited to present in person at the final round of the inaugural 3MT® Competition held in Phoenix, AZ, during the 2022 AIChE Annual Meeting. The Judges’ Choice Award winners (from first to third place) were Hanie Yousefi, Madeline McKinney, and Parham Parnian. Parham Parnian was also awarded the Competitors’ Choice Award.
