The student team from Auburn University (shown above) clinched the top trophy in the 2023 Annual Student Conference Chem-E-Car Competition® finals, winning with a distance of 6.2 cm from the target. The target distance was 25m and no load was required this year.
The second place winner was Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (11.2 cm), followed by the University of Arkansas (12.4 cm), University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez (21.4 cm), and University of Toledo (42 cm). See the final run results.
Awards
The winners of the poster competition were, in descending order, University of Michigan (1st), Tsinghua University, University of Toledo, Youngstown State University, and University of Kentucky.
The award for the best car name went to the University of Illinois-Chicago. Their team name was CST-Car.
The Golden Tire Award went to Centro Universitario of FEI from Brazil. The most innovative car design was awarded to Tsinghua University, and the SAChE Safety Award to University of Notre Dame.
Tecnológico de Monterrey won the Spirit of Competition Award. Both University of California San Diego and University of Delaware received the award for outstanding sportsmanship.
