Christopher Hensler

Chris received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 2013 and worked two years as a process engineering specialist for a proprietary process technology firm.  He is currently a post-bacc student at University of Pittsburgh looking to apply for medical school programs for matriculation in Fall 2017.

He signed on with Chicago Bridge and Iron in 2013 out of college and went directly into their new-hire rotational program. The program exposed him to different process technologies and engineering roles. By the end of his short time in oil and gas, he had worked in an office setting on natural gas processing technologies with process simulators, received operations experience by working on their gasification technology in a plant site, developed a first of a kind technology cross linking the refining and petrochemical sectors, and consulted on LNG terminal surge analysis for majore EPC works.

Chris was and remains an active member of Notre Dame's engineering development groups, primarily AIChE and the engineering student government.

Chris has been a member of AIChE all four years he attended Notre Dame; he joined the engineering student government as the student relations chair and the following years as the Executive Vice President as a Junior and the President as a Senior.

Chris has a strong interest in engineering education and all things STEM.  In his journey as a young adult, he's realized that in addition to his hard skills as a scientist and engineer, he really values his soft skills in caring for and working with others.  He has decided to pursue a medical degree to become a doctor in a field that can use his problem solving skills and love of others.
