Sangtae Kim
Sangtae 'Sang' Kim was appointed in 2008 as the inaugural executive director of the Morgridge Institute for Research. Prior to this appointment he was the Donald W. Feddersen Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University. His past work experience includes NSF Division Director for cyber-infrastructure programs and executive experience at pharmaceutical companies Eli Lilly and Parke-Davis, as the V.P. for R&D IT. His initial career in academia was at the Dept. of Chemical Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he rose through the ranks of assistant, associate, full and distinguished professor, in the years 1983 to 1997. He holds a PhD (1983) from Princeton and concurrent B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Caltech (1979). Dr. Kim has an active record of service on advisory boards in the public and private sectors including current service on the FDA Science Board (2009-2012).
